Step 1: Open the Premiere Pro Lumetri folder

The video shows the steps on Windows. Open File Explorer and go to your C drive. Then open Program Files, then Adobe, and choose the folder for your version of Premiere Pro, such as Adobe Premiere Pro 2025. Scroll down until you see the Lumetri folder and open it.

The full path in the example is C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Pro 2025\Lumetri\LUTs.

Step 2: Open the Creative LUTs folder

Inside Lumetri, open the LUTs folder. You will see three folders: Creative, Legacy and Technical. Open Creative, because that is where the looks you pick in the Lumetri Color panel are stored.

Step 3: Drag your LUT files into the folder

In the Creative folder you will find all the LUTs that come with Premiere Pro. Now take your own LUT files, which are usually .cube files, and drag them into this folder. In the video, extra looks such as Stranger Things and Teal and Orange are added this way. Windows may ask for administrator permission to copy files into Program Files, so confirm it if you see that prompt.

Step 4: Restart Premiere Pro

If Premiere Pro is open, close it and start it again. Premiere only reads the LUT folder when it launches, so new files will not show up until you restart.

Step 5: Find your LUTs in the Lumetri Color panel

Open a project and select a clip. In the Lumetri Color panel, open the Creative tab and click the Look dropdown. Your new LUTs are now in the list, alongside the built-in ones, and they are available in all projects from now on. Pick one to apply it to the clip.

If you do not see the Lumetri Color panel, go to Window and enable Lumetri Color. You can also load a LUT without copying it first by choosing Browse at the top of the Look list and picking the file from anywhere on your computer.

Tips

  • Keep a backup of your LUTs. Updating Premiere Pro installs a new version folder, so you may need to copy your LUTs over again.
  • Use the Intensity slider. Most looks are strong, so lower the Intensity under the preview for a more natural grade.
  • Use Browse for one-off LUTs. If you only need a LUT for a single project, load it with Browse instead of adding it to the system folder.
