Add a logo watermark in Premiere Pro: place it above your clip, stretch it over the video, move it to a corner and lower opacity with a blend mode.

Step 1: Place your logo above the video

Import your logo, ideally a PNG, and drag it onto a video track above your footage. Make sure the playhead is at the start so the logo begins right with the video.

Faster with QuickPaste: copy the image and paste it straight into your timeline with one shortcut, without saving and importing a file first. See QuickPaste

Step 2: Stretch the logo over the whole video

A watermark should stay on screen for the whole video. A still image is only a few seconds long by default, so drag the right edge of the logo clip to the end of your video. The duration shown in the tooltip should match the length of your footage. For a sequence with several clips, stretch the logo to the end of the last one.

Step 3: Resize the logo and move it to a corner

Click the logo in the Program Monitor. Drag a corner handle to make it smaller, then drag it into a corner, such as the bottom left. Keep a little distance from the edge so it does not get cut off on different screens. You can also fine tune it with Scale and Position in Effect Controls.

Step 4: Lower the opacity

With the logo selected, open Effect Controls. Under Opacity, lower the opacity value until the logo is visible but does not fight with the video. The example goes down to around 50, but pick what looks right for your logo and footage.

Step 5: Try a blend mode

For a more subtle look, open the Blend Mode dropdown next to Opacity. Good options to try are Overlay, Screen, Lighten and Multiply. Screen and Lighten work well for bright logos, while Multiply suits dark logos. Switch between them and watch the preview.

Tips

  • Use a PNG with a transparent background. A logo with a box around it will look like a sticker instead of a watermark.
  • Keep it in the same place. Use the same corner on all your videos so viewers recognize your brand.
  • Save the logo as a preset. Copy the logo clip with its effects into new projects instead of setting it up again.
