Clipboard It vs QuickPaste: the short answer
Clipboard It pastes clipboard images into Premiere Pro through a Paste button in its panel. QuickPaste costs the same, $24.99 one-time, but works with your normal Cmd+V (Ctrl+V on Windows) anywhere in Premiere, and pastes far more than images: colors, text, vectors, PSD, AI, AEP and MOGRT files, video and audio.

Why Premiere Pro needs a paste plugin at all
Premiere's own Paste works for clips and for layers copied from After Effects, but Adobe documents no way to paste a clipboard image. Stills have to be saved as files and imported, and WebP, AVIF and SVG are not in Adobe's list of supported still formats. That is the gap Clipboard It, Dopple, AnyPaste and QuickPaste all fill.

The other options in short
Clipboard It
Clipboard It by Austin Davenport saves the clipboard image as a file in a folder you choose, names it with a prefix and a counter, and imports it into a bin. It also converts AVIF and WebP to PNG. You trigger it with the Paste button in its panel, and its pages describe images only.
Dopple
Dopple Copy & Paste is part of the free Phantom plugin for Premiere Pro 2023 and up. You open the Dopple panel and click Paste, and the image is saved to a Dopple_Assets folder and imported. It keeps PNG transparency and can copy the Program Monitor frame.
AnyPaste
AnyPaste from blinkl.io pastes images, SVG, video, audio and PDF, turns a hex code into a color matte, and can download media from YouTube, Instagram, TikTok and other links. It needs Premiere Pro 2024 or newer and a blinkl subscription after a 14-day trial ($75 a year for one extension, $99 for all).
Why editors switch to QuickPaste
- Nothing new to learn. QuickPaste uses the paste shortcut your hands already know. No panel to click into, no extra button.
- If you can copy it, you can paste it. Images, SVG, PDF and EPS vectors, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects and MOGRT files, plus any video or audio Premiere imports.
- Colors paste too. Copy a HEX, RGB, HSL, CMYK or OKLCH value, or a CSS gradient, and paste it straight into your edit.
- Any image becomes a clean PNG. WebP, HEIC, AVIF, JPEG, GIF, TIFF, BMP and RAW are converted automatically before they reach Premiere.
- Text lands as a title. Copy a line from your script and paste it, ready to style.
- Pay once. $24.99 with lifetime updates, on Mac and Windows, for Premiere Pro 2021 to 2026.

How to get started
Step 1: Install QuickPaste
Your download appears right after checkout and arrives by email. Run the installer, which sets up the QuickPaste app and the Premiere Pro plugin for you.
Step 2: Copy anything
Right-click an image on a web page and choose Copy Image, take a screenshot, copy a file in Finder or File Explorer, or copy a color code or a line of text. An image link works too.

Step 3: Press Cmd+V in Premiere Pro
Switch to Premiere and press Cmd+V (Ctrl+V on Windows). The file lands in your bin, and with Paste at Playhead on, it goes straight onto your timeline. It is handy for quick image overlays, logos and reference shots.

Step 4: Set it up your way
In the QuickPaste panel, choose where pasted files go under Paste To, switch Convert Images to PNG and Paste Text as Title on or off, or record your own paste shortcut. Copy Current Frame (Cmd+Shift+C by default) copies the frame under the playhead as a full-resolution PNG, a faster route than our screenshot guide.

When another tool is a better fit
If you only paste the odd screenshot and want to spend nothing, Dopple is free. If you mostly pull clips from YouTube, Instagram or TikTok links, AnyPaste's link downloading is something QuickPaste does not do. And if you like every pasted image saved with a numbered name in one fixed folder, Clipboard It's naming may suit you. For everything else, QuickPaste keeps paste as simple as it is in every other app.
