Short version

Need a QuickFX alternative for Premiere Pro? BetterFX applies any effect to every selected clip with one shortcut and a few letters, on Mac and Windows.

A look across twelve shots takes one search instead of twelve drags. BetterFX is $29.99 one-time and works with Premiere Pro 2021 to 2026.

Made for whole-timeline jobs

Single-clip tweaks are easy. The real time sink is doing the same thing to every clip in a sequence: the base grade on all the interview shots, the same blur on every b-roll insert, the same cleanup on every voice clip. BetterFX turns each of those into one move.

  • Batch apply. Select the clips, search once, and the effect lands on all of them.
  • Recent effects. Open BetterFX with an empty search and your last five effects are listed, newest first.
  • Favorites and ranking. The effects you use most rise to the top on their own, and you can star the ones you always want close.
  • Custom presets. Your saved looks, keyframes included, apply to many clips as easily as one.
  • Performance optimized. Built to stay fast in large, effect-heavy projects.

Step 1: Select the clips you want to change

Install BetterFX with the guided installer for Mac or Windows. It sets up the app and the Premiere Pro plugin in one go.

In your timeline, drag a selection box around the clips or Shift-click them. Clips on several tracks can be part of the same selection.

Step 2: Search once and press Enter

Press Option + Space on a Mac or Alt + Space on Windows, type lum and press Enter. Lumetri Color is applied to every selected clip at once.

Each clip gets its own instance in Effect Controls, the same way Premiere always works. From here, follow our guide to color grade video in Premiere Pro to shape the look.

Step 3: Re-apply recent effects without typing

Moving on to the next scene? Select the new clips and open BetterFX without typing anything. Your last five effects are already there, newest first. Pick one and press Enter.

Star the effects you use on every project and they stay one search away as favorites. Over time, smart ranking puts your most-used effects first even when you do type.

Step 4: Turn a full look into one step

When a look needs several effects or keyframes, save it as a preset and import it into BetterFX. It shows up in search with a custom preset tag, and you can apply it to the whole selection just like a single effect.

For the looks you apply constantly, add a shortcut. Click the shortcut field next to the preset in the BetterFX panel, press your keys, and from then on it's select clips, press keys, done.

A few batch ideas

  • Interview cleanup. Select every voice clip and apply DeNoise in one go.
  • Consistent b-roll. Put the same Gaussian Blur or Crop on every insert.
  • Quick previews. Try a filter across the whole scene in a few keystrokes. Our list of ways to apply filters to video in Premiere Pro has plenty to try.

Why BetterFX is the right pick

It's one shortcut, one search and one keypress, whether you're changing one clip or forty. It runs on macOS and Windows, updates install automatically, and you buy it once with a commercial license.
